Spirit Financial Announces CO-OP Shared Branching for Members

Spirit Financial Credit Union has announced that effective July 1, 2022, CO-OP Shared Branching will be a new benefit for credit union members. The CO-OP Shared Branch network allows members from participating credit unions to perform transactions at another credit union. As part of a CO-OP Shared Branching network, Spirit Financial Credit Union members can visit any participating branch nationwide for in-person basic teller transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, transfer funds, cash checks, make loan payments, and more.

Nationwide Branches Part of the Shared Branching Network

Sprit Financial members will now be able to access over 5,600 Shared Branch locations across the country, 56 of which are located within 50 miles of the Spirit Financial branch. Click here to view a list of Shared Branching participants within 50 miles of our branch.

In addition to the added convenience, Shared Branching is also easy to use. Simply locate a CO-OP Shared Branch with the handy locator tool. You can also download the CO-OP Shared Branch Locator App on Google Play or the App Store.

When visiting a Shared Branch, all you need is your valid government-issued identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, as well as your credit union’s name and your account number. Let the Shared Branch staff know you are using Shared Branching. They will help you with any special deposit or withdrawal slips you need.

Benefits of Shared Branching

As mentioned above, the biggest benefit of Shared Branching is that as a member of Spirit Financial, or another participating credit union, you will have access to thousands of participating branches across the country. Shared Branching is ideal for those who travel frequently, college students, or even those who move and don’t wish to switch accounts to another financial institution.

The CO-OP Shared Branching network provides Spirit Financial members with one of the largest branch networks in the country, with branches in all fifty states. Wherever you travel in the U.S., chances are there’s a Shared Branch near you.
